Strong explosions were heard up to about two or three kilometers away after a truck that transported gas cylinders caught fire in Ghaziabad at dawn on Saturday.
In the fire reported in Bhopura Chowk in Delhi-Wazirabad Road in the area of Thea Teela Mod of the Ghaziabad district, victims or injuries have not yet been reported. However, a house and a warehouse suffered damage.
The worried residents left their homes after explosion sounds caused an alarm in the area.
According to Fire Director Rahul Kumar, the Fire Brigade officials are in the place, but as the cylinders continue to exploit, the staff of the Fire Brigade cannot reach the truck. “The sound of the cylinder explosion can be heard for several kilometers in the vicinity,” Kumar said.
Police said more than 100 cylinders could have been in the truck. The reason for the fire has not yet been determined.
