The security detail for former Defense Secretary Mark Esper, who was provided by the Department of Defense, was revoked Tuesday night, said a United States official and an official of the Department of Defense to CBS News.
The Department of Defense has not yet responded to a request for comments.

Espe is the last official of the Trump’s first administration to lose security provided by the Government. The security details for former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, his assistant Brian Hook and former national security advisor John Bolton were also recently eliminated.
Last month, when a journalist asked him about the administration by dismissing security details, Mr. Trump replied: “When he has protection, he can’t have it for the rest of his life.”
He added: “I mean, there are risks for everything.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio Approved the elimination of diplomatic security details of Pompeo and Hook. Bolton was protected by the secret service.
The Defense Department eliminated former President of the Joint Chiefs, General, Mark Milley’s Detail on January 28 and revoked its security authorization. The Secretary of Defense, Pete Heghseth, also asked the inspector of the Department of Defense for a review on Milley’s behavior during the first Trump administration to determine if Milley should be stripped of a star.
On the day of the inauguration, the official portrait of Milley as president of the joint bosses was removed from the walls of the Pentagon.
Several days later, the portrait of waiting as Secretary of the Army and the portrait of Milley as head of the Army staff were also eliminated.
