In view of Holi coinciding with the second Friday of Ramzan for the first time in nearly 35 years, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand held a video conference with police officials on Thursday to review the security arrangements and ensure peaceful celebrations.
He emphasised the need for heightened vigilance and directed the deployment of pickets in sensitive and key areas across all zones. He stated that advance measures had already been taken to facilitate the smooth conduct of both festivals and urged officers to remain cautious to prevent any untoward incidents.
The Commissioner instructed police personnel to keep a close watch on anti-social elements and vagabonds to maintain law and order. He extended his best wishes to the people of Hyderabad, expressing hope that Holi would bring joy and vibrancy to their lives.
The meeting was attended by Vikram Singh Mann, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Chaitanya Kumar, DCP (Special Branch, Hyderabad), and all zonal officers, who participated virtually.
