The Indian-American artist Chandrika Tandon won her first Grammy in the Album Best New Age, Ambient or Chant album for her triveni album. He had previously won a nomination in the Grammys, but this year the trophy will take home. Together with his partners, the South African flutist Wouter Kellerman and the Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto, Chandrika, a world business executive and the older sister of the former CEO of Pepsico, Indra Nooyi, took home home.

The musician, who was born and grew up in Chennai, commented: “He feels incredible,” in an interview between racks with the recording academy that followed him. “The nominees of the category were also very surprising. For us, winning this is an even more memorable occasion. We had some incredible musicians nominated with us,” he added.
A victory over other Indian origin nominees
In the Best New Age category, Ambient or Chant Album, Ricky Kej Break of Dawn, Opus by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Chapter II of Anoushka Shankar: how dark is before dawn and the warriors of the Light of Radichika Vekaria were also nominated.
