The governor of Delhi, VK Saxena, today sanctioned an investigation into AAP’s accusation that the BJP tried to hunt hunters to his candidates before the results of the Elections of the Delhi Assembly, scheduled for February 8. Lieutenant governor said the matter deserved an investigation and ordered the authorities to examine the accusations.
In a social media post, the former Prime Minister of Delhi and Chief of AAP, Arvind Kejriwal, said that 16 AAP candidates had received BJP offers. He claimed that they were promised ministerial positions and RS 15 million rupees each if they deserted.
“Some agencies show that the abusive part (BJP) is obtaining more than 55 seats. In the last two hours, 16 of our candidates have received calls that if they leave AAP and join their party, they will be given ministers and will be given RS RS.
Then he questioned the authenticity of the output surveys that showed a BJP victory in the elections.
“If they are in fact winning more than 55 seats, why are they calling our candidates? These false surveys are a conspiracy to create an atmosphere to break the AAP candidates. But not a single one of them will change the side,” he added.
Delhi’s Prime Minister and AAP candidate from Kalkaji, Atishi, also intervened in the controversy. She questioned the supposed attempts of the BJP to hunt the candidates if they trust to win.
“If the abusive party (BJP) is getting more than 50 seats, why are they trying to break our candidates contacting them?” She published in X.
Atishi also said that the output surveys that predict a BJP victory in Delhi are being manipulated to “demoralize AAP candidates and create an atmosphere where defections can be encouraged.”
After the BJP complaint against AAP’s accusations, Delhi’s governor, VK Saxena, sanctioned an investigation into the matter.
“The Lieutenant Governor has wanted this matter to deserve an exhaustive investigation through the Office of Corruption (ACB) to establish the truth in the matter,” said a statement from the VK Saxena office.
Surveys for the 70 Assembly seats in Delhi concluded on Wednesday. With the votes that will be counted on Saturday, the results will determine whether AAP ensures a third consecutive mandate or if BJP finally breaks his 27 -year waiting to govern the capital.
