A mass fire broke out in a chemical factory located in the area of ​​Industrial Development (IDA) in Cherlapally on Tuesday night. No victims or incident injuries were reported.

According to a fire control official, after a call of anguish at 6.36 pm, seven fire tenders were pressed in service. The fire was reported in Sarvodaya Solvents PVT LTD, a chemical manufacturing company located in the first phase IDA Cherlapally.

According to the firefighters of the Midchal-Malkajiri district, V. Srinivas, the factory was closed by maintenance at the time of the accident. According to preliminary research, the fire could have been caused by Sparks, however, an investigation has been launched to identify the cause, he said.

The official added that the structural column of the factory had collapsed due to the fire before it was controlled around 9 pm

The Mahalakshmi rubber company located right next to the affected installation also caught fire, further intensifying the situation and leading to a sensation of suffocation for some residents in the area, police said.
