Yellow alert for two districts on Sunday as summer rain lashes in State

Parts of the State received isolated to heavy summer showers on Saturday, bringing respite to people from the soaring temperature.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for eight districts on Saturday and for two districts, Malappuram and Wayanad, on Sunday, warning of isolated heavy showers in the range of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain in 24 hours.

Urumi in Kozhikode received 88.5 mm of rain until 8 p.m. on Saturday, while Udumbannoor in Idukki received 67 mm of rain until 7 p.m. on the same day.

Eastern parts of the state, especially hilly areas, received some intense spells.
