In a strange case of immigration fraud, a woman has been arrested in the United Kingdom for using different wigs and disguise to impersonate applicants during British citizenship evidence. According to the Ministry of Interior, as mentioned by BBCThe defendant of 61 years of Enfield, in northern London, took the “test of life in the United Kingdom” in the name of at least 14 other people, both men and women, to help them obtain an unfair advantage when obtaining ‘permission indefinite to remain ‘state that essentially means permanent residence.
The authorities executed a court order at the defendant’s house on Monday (January 27) and discovered a stash of false documents and a variety of wigs that were apparently used to deceive the interviewers. It is alleged that the woman took the tests in different centers in the United Kingdom between June 1, 2022 and August 14, 2023.
The home office published images of her using the wigs, as well as her CCTV participating in the interview. Inspector Phillip Parr, involved in the investigation, described the scheme as “dangerous”, highlighting that meticulous planning was carried out on the other hand to execute the entire operation.
“It is believed that this individual has orchestrated a premeditated plan to avoid detection, meticulously selecting the costumes and locations of the trial centers throughout the country to evade the authorities,” said Mr. Parr.
“As with many criminals who commit this type of crime, we believe that their reason was financial gain,” he added.
The woman remains in custody with the Ministry of Interior to inform about the course of future action.
