The president of the United States, Donald Trump, appointed Indian-American journalist Kush Desai as deputy press secretary in the White House, Desai and Anna Kelly will join the administration as deputy secretaries attached to work for the Republican Party.
Desai is among the three new Indian-American appointments in the Trump Administration: Ricky Gill as senior director of Asia Sur and Central, National Security Council (NSC) and Saurabh Sharma, who will join the presidential personnel office to focus on focusing on The staff and equipment.

Who is Kush Desai?
Kush Desai is a Dartmouth College graduate, who also has a degree at the Ivy League institution in Hanover, New Hampshire. It is bilingual, fluid in English and its native language Gujarati. Desai has also won the prestigious presidential research scholarship of James O. Freedman, which allows students to obtain first -hand research experience in Dartmouth.
Before arriving at politics, Desai worked briefly as a journalist at Daily Caller in Washington DC and served as a research analyst at the RNC, according to his LinkedIn page, after which he was promoted to research director.

He also served as Director of Deputy Communications for the Director of Republican National Convention and Communications of 2024 for the Iowa Republican Party. Desai also occupied the same position as the states of the attached battlefield and the Communications Directors of Pennsylvania in the RNC.
As such, Desai’s work helped shape the narratives and messages in the key battlefield, including Pennsylvania, that Trump backed the Democrats during last year’s elections. In his new role, Desai will work under the Communications Office of the White House, supervised by the White House Cabinet Deputy Director, Taylor Budowich.
This announcement follows the previous appointments of President Trump of Steven Cheung as assistant of the president and communications director of the White House, and Karoline Leavitt as assistant of the president and press secretary.
