Basant Panchami (or Panchami Vasant) is just around the corner, and you know what that means: the sun shines, the weather becomes perfect and nature is the best. This is the time when winter begins to fade and spring steps with all its glory. Spring is often called the ‘king of all stations’, and deserves that title. In the Hindu calendar, Basant Panchami falls on the Panchami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Mash, and is dedicated to the goddess Saraswati. This festival, held throughout India, has different traditions depending on the region. In the east, it is Saraswati Puja, while the South celebrates it as ‘Shri Panchami’.
