The V40E live was launched in India at the end of September and is the most affordable option in the alignment, which also includes the V40 standard and the V40 Pro. Therefore, I believe that the ‘E’ in the name means ‘economic’, But I bet I would not agree with me. The V40E is an intelligent medium range phone whose main point of sale is its design and an affirmation that it is the thinnest smartphone with a 5,500 mAh battery. Vivo also states that the phone is a professional to take pictures of portraits thanks to the light of Aura.
At an initial price of RS. 28,999, the v40E v40E sounds like a good business for something specifically that looks for a phone with a large battery, a thin design and taking many photos of portraits. Is it, although? Keep reading to find out.
LIVE DESIGN V40E: Visually pleasant
- Dimensions – 163.7 × 75 × 7.49 mm
- Weight – 183g
- Colors – Mint Green, Royal Bronze
You get an elegant and elegant phone as announced. The V40E live has only 7.49 mm of alganza and feels thinner thanks to the curved edges in the front and rear. The corners are rounded and get a bright plastic frame. However, the top and lower part are flattened. You will also find the pill/chamber module in the form of the keyboard with the upper oval that stands out and the lower unit is located with the aura light on the back. We review the Royal Bronze Unit, which has a matt finish rear plastic panel and has no pattern. However, the panel is prone to digital footprints and scratches, so it is better to protect the phone with a box.
The phone has the correct amount of weight, and it seems that it costs more than it does. The right edge houses volume and feed buttons. There is a microphone, speaker, a SIM tray and a USB type C port at the bottom, while the upper part houses another microphone. The V40E also obtains an IP64 rating, and found a rubber stamp inside the SIM card tray.
I live V40E Display: Big and Curvy
- Size-6.77 inches, Full-HD+ resolution
- Type – Amoled, 120Hz
- Protection – Schott Xensation Up Glass
In the front, the phone has a large screen with curved sides. In addition to making the phone feel thinner than it really is, curved sides also make the side bezels seem thinner. The bezels are also uniform at the top and lower part. The panel is quite bright for inner use, and can also be used outdoors, provided it is not a super bright day.
As for the update speed, the screen obtains a support of up to 120 Hz with a smart switch option also. You can also change between 60Hz or 120Hz. The screen admits HDR10+ and offers three color modes: standard, professional and brilliant. There is also an SG Low Blue Light certification available on the phone. All of the above makes the screen on the V40E live an excellent option to see content and play games.
The screen also offers a digital footprint scanner in the sample, which, apart from some failed attempts, was fast and worked well during my time with the phone.
V40E LIVE SOFTWARE: soft but swollen
- OS – Android 14
- UI – Fontouch OS 14
- Last security patch – October 1
The v40E V40E executes Fontouch OS 14 based on Android 14 OS 14 outside the box, and received several updates during the review period. Vivo has promised to provide three years of operating system updates and four years of security patches. The software experience is like most other intelligent phones of average living range. You get many third -party applications from the first moment, but fortunately, these can be uninstall. There is also the living V-Appystore and some other living applications, such as the browser, which continue to send notifications and cannot be removed.
However, you will find some useful functions on the phone. A AI draft tool is present in the Gallery application, and works decently. It also obtains an improvement function of the photo of AI that is stated that it unlocks, embellishes and reduces noise. However, he did a good job really. It also obtains features such as an intelligent sidebar to use the curved screen, dynamic light that uses aura light to show notifications, environmental light effect that uses edge lighting for notifications and acts as a light show when playing music, and more .
The software experience on the phone is mostly soft, but unwanted notifications of incorporated applications are quite annoying.
I live V40E PERFORMANCE: Good enough
- SOC – MEDATEK DIMENSITY 7300
- RAM – 8GB LPDDR4X
- Storage: Up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2
The Mediatek Dimensity 7300 in the V40E is a 4nm eight-core chipset that is combined with the NPU Mediatek 655 and a Mali-G615 GPU of the arm. When it comes to regular use, I did not notice any delay. Applications open rapidly, multitasking is not a task, and animations throughout the user interface are soft. The application of the camera also works without problems, and there is no important shutter delay. In general, this phone is easy to recommend for daily tasks.
I executed a pair of reference points to compare it with phones at a similar price level, and the numbers showed that the V40E live offered a lower performance in most cases. Of course, it must take into account that these reference points should not be taken to the letter, since the real use of words will vary.

The phone also worked decently when playing and did not overheat even after a 45 -minute session of BGMI. I played BGMI with HDR graphics and ultra frame speed and did not notice any important delay. I also played Genshin Impact and COD with medium configurations, and they worked well mainly.
The phone has a dual speaker configuration, which is good enough for interior use. It does not offer many serious, but there is a volume reinforcement mode that increases sound outlet. Calls and connectivity are also quite good. The audio of the microphone and the speaker of the ear was clear at both ends, and I did not notice any important problem in the network in my area.
V40E alive cameras: it is not claimed that the professional is
- Main rear: 50 megapixels, OIS, Sony IMX882, F/1.79 Opening
- Secondary-8 megapixels Ultrawide, F/2.2, FOV of 116 degrees
- Selfie-50 megapixels, automatic approach, f/2.0, 92 degrees FOV
It obtains two rear cameras in the V40E and two different types of LED flash. Aura light is mainly intended for photos of portraits, but can use it creatively as filling light.
The main camera is good for photos of daylight, but can produce decent night results. The photos offer good details, colors and white balance. Even photos with little light with sufficient lighting offer good details, although with some noise.
The secondary camera, an 8 megapixel ultrawide, is fine for the photos of daylight, but will see an inaccuracy of color between the two rear sensors. The photos with little light with the Ultrawide camera are blurred and have a watercolor effect.
I am not sure why I live market this as a professional camera for portraits, since the phone does not even have a depth sensor. Use the primary camera and you can choose between a 1x or 2x crop. However, the results are pleasant and you get a decent blur effect, but edge detection could have been better. Aura light also helps take good photos of portraits at night.
Changing to the front, the Samsung Jn1 sensor of 50 megapixels with automatic approach does a good job with selfies. The colors of the skin are mostly precise, the colors are pleasant and there are a good amount of details. However, selfies in low light conditions are not so great.
Going to the video, you can record to 4K 30 fps from the main rear and the front cameras. There is also a stabilization available, which does a decent job to eliminate the shaking, but the panoramic view is Jankky. The quality of the video is decent when there is a lot of light, with slightly driven colors. However, I noticed that the dynamic range and white balance are everywhere.
I live v40e drums: impressive
- Capacity – 5,500 mAh
- Load speed – 80W
- Loader – 80W in the box
V40E living battery performance, as I mentioned in the subtitle, is impressive. The 5,500 mAh battery easily lasts one day and more with regular use. In our HD video loop, the phone managed to last more than 32 hours with a single load. This was with the update rate established in 120Hz. Not many phones in this price segment can administer that.
The load is quite fast, thanks to the 80W charger included. A full load of 0 to 100 percent took approximately one hour. Nor does it heat up when loading.
V40E LIVING VERDICT
While the V40E live is definitely not what you must get if you are looking for portrait photography, it is something that would recommend if you want an incredible battery life and an attractive design. It is good to see the option of real bronze, and the curved edges make the phone easy to hold. The phone also has a large and brilliant screen for most conditions. The sound output is decent, the primary rear camera and the front camera are good during the day, and the performance is also quite decent.
As for the alternatives, you can opt for Nothing Phone 2A Plus (review) if you want a more unique design and better performance. OnePlus Nord 4 (review) is also an excellent option if you prefer better cameras and much higher performance. There is also the Infinix Zero 40 (review), which offers much better performance and a good main rear camera.
