Two sites have been preselected for the second airport proposed by Bengaluru and will be sent to the Indian Airport authority before February 17, MB Patil’s Minister of Industries said on Saturday.

The minister said the selection will be based on merit and will not be a political decision. There are indications that the state government is considering the possible sites of Nelalangala and Kanakapura Road for the second airport.

“We have preselected two sites and had a round of information with the Prime Minister. We will have another round of information, ”said the minister.
