Washington:
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, will sign an executive order on Wednesday that prohibits the transgender athletes of women’s sports, in their last movement aimed at transgender people since he returned to office.
The measure honors a promise made by Republican Trump before returning for his second term with a radical right -wing agenda.
The White House said in its daily guide that Trump would sign a “no men in the executive order of women’s sports” at a ceremony at 3:00 pm (2000 GMT).
“Today, President Trump will fulfill his promise to protect women’s sports!” The deputy press secretary, Anna Kelly, said in X.
Kelly said the order “would end the dangerous and unfair participation of men in women’s sports.”
Trump repeatedly returned to the issue of transgender athletes during an electoral campaign that also specifically addressed the Democratic rival Kamala Harris for her support for trans problems.
The 78 -year -old billionaire has repeatedly addressed people not complying in their bombing of executive orders and other movements since he returned to the position on January 20.
Trump signed an order to free the military from what he called “transgender ideology” and effectively prohibit transgender troops. He also issued an order to restrict gender transition procedures for people under 19.
Its last executive order occurs after the House of Representatives led by Republicans in January approved a bill that severely restricts transgender athletes to participate in sports of girls and women.
Republicans hit the Democrats on transgender issues, especially when it were young people and sports, before the 2024 elections, capitalizing a broader cultural war for LGBTQ rights.
Like transgender people, a small minority of the population, have become a more visible presence in the United States, causing questions about gender and justice norms, many conservatives have recovered around women’s sports.
