A tree trimmer from southern Florida has died after being caught in a wooden splinter, According to the officials.
The accident occurred at 9:30 am on Tuesday in Ocean Ridge, about 60 miles north of Miami, when a man cut trees on the first day of a project at the Ocean Ridge City Council and the property of the Police Department.
“Upon arrival, Ocean Ridge officers found that a person had died from injuries suffered in the accident, no other person at the scene suffered injuries,” city officials said in a statement on social networks.
Lynne Ladner, the municipal manager of Ocean Ridge, said CBS Wpec affiliate that the man was dragged into the wooden splinter to the shoulders and was beheaded.
Ladner told Wpec that seven coworkers and a supervisor were on the scene and witnessed the accident or heard that it happened and ran to help the man. By the time the co -workers were done, it was too late to change the emergency closure button.
The authorities have not yet revealed the identity of the victim, but Ladner told Wpec that the family of man lives in Mexico.
The investigation is still ongoing.
