The United Nations confirmed on Tuesday that he had received a Washington notification of his withdrawal from the Paris Climate Change Agreement, a key campaign promise from the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
“I can confirm that the United States has notified the Secretary General, in his capacity as deposit, of his retirement on January 27 of this year from the Paris Agreement,” said Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the UN Chief, Antonio Guterres.
“According to article 28, paragraph two, of the Paris Agreement, the withdrawal of the United States will enter into force on January 27, 2026”.
