The White House hopes that up to 10% of federal employees renounce in a purchase program aimed at ending work practices from home, senior administration officials said to CBS News.
An email from the entire government that President Trump’s assistants planned to send on Tuesday will say that employees have approximately one week to decide whether to participate in a “deferred resignation program.” He had to start Tuesday for all federal and final employees on February 6.
Those who do not want to work in the office “are free to choose a different line of work, and the Trump administration will provide a very generous 8 -month payment,” said White House Secretary Karoline Leavitt in a statement.
Only about 6% of federal employees work full -time in office, administration officials said.
“If you renounce this program, you will keep all salaries and benefits, regardless of your daily workload and will be exempt from all work requirements applicable until September 30, 2025 (or before if you choose to accelerate your resignation by any reason.
