The Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmira, Omar Abdullah, said on Tuesday (January 28, 2025) that Parliament will receive a final call on the uniform Civil Code and the WAQF bill (amendment).

Uttarakhand became Monday to implement UCC with the ruling BJP fulfilling an important commitment that took All and denied each change moved by the members of the opposition.

“Let them do what they want to do until a law for the country is promulgated. Finally, it is Parliament that will decide on this and not in UTS or individual states, ”Abdullah told reporters, reacting to the implementation of the UCC in Uttarakhand.
In response to another question about the WAQF bill, he said that the parliamentary committee is still maintaining discussions and that the government is not implementing any law.
In the recent past, the president of the Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, met with the committee and presented his point of view. “Let the committee complete your work, then the Parliament will discuss its report,” said Prime Minister.
