The Indian star of the Bádminton and the Olympic bronze medalist Saina Nehwal arrived on Wednesday at Mahakumbh Nagar to take a dip in the sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam during the current Maha Kumbh Kumbh. Calling Maha Kumbh the world’s biggest spiritual meeting, he said she felt fortunate to be part of a great event. The ferry said she would visit Triveni Sangam with her father at night and expressed her desire to return with her mother in the future. Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Saina said: “Being part of this sacred event is a special experience. I congratulate the government of Uttar Pradesh for organizing such a magnificent festival. I hope more and more people visit here and make known it throughout the world”. She said it was a massive celebration and that she felt “really lucky” of being there.
“I am happy to see that everyone joins, showing our unity and strength. I am proud of the fact that this festival is happening in our country,” he added.
Saina also extended her best wishes to the young people in the country, emphasizing the importance of spiritual events to foster energy and positivity.
Praying for the progress of India, he said: “I sincerely hope that our nation continues to grow and reach new heights of success.” Maha Kumbh has attracted millions of devotees from India and beyond, who participate in sacred baths and several spiritual rituals.
Before Saina, the Olympic boxer and former deputy of Rajya Sabha, Mary Kom, former Cricket player Suresh Raina and the president of the ICC Jay Shah, among others, of the sports fraternity have been in the Maha Kumbh, which began January 13 and will continue until February 26.
