A high -level committee, under the presidency of the Interior Minister of the Union, Amit Shah, approved ₹ 3,027.86 million rupees for projects to mitigate disasters such as rays and drought.

The Committee considered proposals for projects on the mitigation of lightning safety and ray risk in 50 districts prone to a ray of 10 states and catalytic assistance to 49 districts from 12 states more prone to drought for funds from the National Mitigation Fund of disasters (NDMF).

The Committee approved projects for catalytic assistance to 12 states more prone to the drought of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh, with a total exit of ₹ 2,022,161616 crore, of which the central action will be ₹ 1,200 crore.l

The Rayo Security Mitigation Project in 10 states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Western Bengala were approved with a total exit of ₹ 186.78 Crore.

The scheme for forest fire risk management was also approved for implementation in 144 high priority districts in 19 states with a total disbursement of ₹ 818.92 million rupees, of which the central participation of NDMF and the National Response Fund A disasters (NDRF) will be ₹ 690.63 Crore, said the ministry.

The main objective of the scheme will be to implement a mitigation project to transform the forest fire management approach in the country to strengthen and support the vital activities of forest fire prevention and mitigation.
