“A fire broke out at the Sabarmati bullet train station under construction in Ahmedabad de Gujarat in the early hours of Saturday (February 8, 2025),” said an official.
“There was no victim report in the fire that exploded around 6.30 am,” said the fire department official. He said that 13 fire tenders were pressed in the service and that the fire was controlled.

According to a statement issued by National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the agency responsible for the project, the fire was reported on the closed ceiling in a part of the construction site.
“The welding sparks of temporary closing work is Prima Facie that is believed to be the probable cause of fire,” he said.
“No injuries or victims have been reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but Prima Facie, it seems that welding temporary closing workspasses may have caused it,” he said. NHSRCL officials were monitoring the situation on the site. The station is part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet project of 508 km.
The project covers Gujarat (352 km) and Maharashtra (156 km), with a total of 12 stations planned in Mumbai, Thane, Vinar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand/Nadíade, Ahmedabad and Sabomati.
