A ten-day Gandhi Shilp Bazaar, an exhibition of traditional handicrafts and handlooms from across India, began at JSS Urban Haat in Mysuru on Friday.
Sponsored by the Directorate of Handloom, Handicrafts and Sericulture, Government of Tripura, the exhibition was inaugurated by Ukesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Mysuru Zilla Panchayat. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru, P. Shivaraju, Commissioner of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Shaikh Tanveer Asif, and Director of the Directorate of Handloom Handicrafts and Sericulture, Government of Tripura, R. Arun Kumar were also present on the occasion.
The ten-day exhibition will remain open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. till March 23. Entry to the exhibition is free.
“The Gandhi Shilp Bazaar aims to promote and showcase traditional handicrafts and handlooms from across India, providing a platform for artisans to display and sell their handicrafts,” stated a press statement from co-ordinator of JSS Mysore Urban Haat Rakesh Rai.
