Suspected hashish oil, ganja seized; two arrested

The police arrested a 25-year-old man with suspected hashish oil during a search operation on Irrity Road at Mattanur on Friday.

K. Nishad, a native of Maruthai Payyaparamba, was taken into custody with 195.18 grams of suspected hashish oil, stored in 55 small bottles, allegedly for sale. It was reportedly brought to Mattanur from Bengaluru.

In another incident, Gaur Majhi, a migrant worker from West Bengal, was arrested with suspected ganja by the Valapattanam police on Azhikode boat bridge. The police recovered 205 grams of suspected ganja from him.

District Police Chief (Kannur) P. Nithin Raj said checking would continue, and that stringent action would be taken against drug-related offences.
