After wildfires ravaged much of Southern California, rain finally arrived, which is expected to help firefighters who are currently mopping up multiple wildfires. However, heavy rains are likely to bring new problems, including toxic ash runoff. While the region was forecast to receive about an inch (about 2.5 centimeters) of precipitation over several days, the National Weather Service said the "The threat is high enough to prepare for a worst-case scenario." as it predicted localized storms, which can cause mud and debris to flow downhill.
