Tom Homan, the border tsar of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, has reacted to Selena Gomez’s anguish for the recent massive deportation raids carried out by the application of immigration and customs (ICE). The singer-actor, whose father is Mexican, shared an emotional Instagram video on Monday, describing arrests as an attack against “All My People”.
In the video, Mrs. Gómez broke into tears, saying: “The children. I don’t understand. His subtitle said: “Sorry” and included a Mexican flag emoji. The publication received a violent reaction, which led Mrs. Gomez to eliminate the video.
In response to the viral reaction, Tom homan dismissed the criticisms of ICE’s actions, saying: “I don’t think we have arrested any family. We have arrested public security threats and national security threats, conclusions.”
Defending the repression, Homan called the situation on the southern border the “largest national security threat” in his life. He pointed out a “600 percent increase in sex trafficking” and the presence of terrorists in the surveillance list that tried to cross the border as justifications for raids. “We are going to do this job, and we will enforce the laws of this country. If you don’t like it, then go to Congress and change the law,” he added firmly.

“There are no apologies. We are moving forward to make our communities safer,” concluded Homin, citing the possible reduction of fentanyl deaths, illegal alien crimes and trafficking in persons as results of the most strict border application.
The comments occurred after ICE’s largest deportation operation since Trump’s return to the office, which saw a total of 956 arrests on Sunday. The operation followed 286 arrests on Saturday 593 on Friday and 538 on Thursday. According to a BBC reportrepression aimed at people described as threats of public security and national security. Homan supervised the operation in Chicago.
Despite criticism of Trump administration immigration policies, the data of the Migration Policy Institute reveal that deportation numbers under the administration of Joe Biden reflected those of Trump’s first mandate, with 1.5 million deportations carried out during the presidency of Biden.
Selena Gomez, who has been a vocal defender of immigrants, previously produced Netflix docuseries that live undocumented in 2019, which shows the struggles of undocumented families in the United States.
