Fans are in a delight, since the film will be launched again in theaters on February 21, 2025. The film has been restored to a 2K version and will be released for the first time with English subtitles.
The reputed multiplex chain PVR Cinemas led its official social media handles, to announce the relaunch of this classic iconic. The language is no longer the barrier, now that the film will reach the screens after all these years, with English subtitles. This ensures that the film reaches a wider range of audience.
To those who do not know, Nayak It is the story of a famous Bengali actor Arindam Mukherjee (Utam Kumar), and a curious journalist Aditi Senguta (Sharmila Tagore).
The story follows on a train trip where Arindam travels from Kolkata to Delhi, to receive a national award. Coincidentally, his seat is next to Aditi, which is inquisitive to know more about him.
As his train trip progresses, Arindam opens on his life, and many regrets and insecurities, which are often clouded by the strong and safe personality that he has outside.
The film also presents Bireswar Sen, Soumen Bose and Nirmal Ghosh in key roles.
