Review of Lenovo Tab Plus: an entertainment power

Review of Lenovo Tab Plus: an entertainment power

0:00

Most of the Premium tablet segment is already dominated by people like Samsung and Apple. However, the affordable or medium range segment still offers a variety of tablets of different brands. And this is where Lenovo is trying to make a name. The company has brought an excellent line of tablets for several cases of use in this segment, and the last one focuses on entertainment. The new Lenovo Plus tab comes with a price of RS 22,999 and brings some ribbon features ready such as eight JBL motor systems along with an interesting design language, fast cable load support, a clean user interface and more. However, is it enough to stand out from competition? Let’s find out in this in -depth review.

Lenovo Tab Plus Design: Bult-in Kickstand is a victory

  • Dimension – 1742.00 x 268.30 x 13.50 mm
  • Weight – 650g
  • Colors – Luna Gray

The Lenovo Plus tab tries to highlight among the crowd with its unique design, which no other tablet offers in this price segment. From the front, it looks like a usual affordable tablet. The bezels around the screen are not the thinnest compared to the others, while the double tone finish makes a premium look.

The Lenovo Plus tab offers a built -in kick stop and is available in Luna Gray color options.

However, once it turns it, it will notice the real distinction. The lower half of the tablet in the back is twice thick as the upper half. This is mainly due to the fact that the company has filled high loyalty speakers (more about this later) at the bottom, along with a built -in kick stop.

The built -in kick stop makes it an interesting proposal here, which makes it easier to place the screen on a desk and use it as a mini monitor to see all its favorite content. I liked this idea, since I always avoid holding large screen tablets in my hand. In addition, this also eliminates the need to buy accessories to dock it.

Interestingly, you can turn the kick from kick to almost 180 degrees, which makes it easier to take notes or scribbles. The good thing here is that it is also compatible with the Pen Plus Stylus support, although I did not have access to test it with our review unit.

The experience in the hand is a bit strange, thanks to the thick background. The tablet is 13.5 mm thick at the bottom, while it is thinner to 7.7 mm. The light lump in the back helps you hold it comfortably in your hand, but not for long. The tablet is not the lightest in the segment, with 650 g of weight, but it is manageable.

Lenovo Plus Display and Audio tab: Date

  • Screen – 11.5 inches LCD screen
  • Update speed: 90Hz update speed
  • Brillo – 400nits Maximum shine

The most important aspect of this device is that the Lenovo Plus tab offers a large screen, which is ideal to see all its favorite content of different OTT or YouTube applications. Although he uses an LCD panel, the colors were vibrant, although deep blacks were decent, if not impressive.

The tablet also comes with Widevine L1 support, which means that it can easily transmit the HD quality content. The color reproduction was good. However, the screen is a bit reflective, so you can adjust the level with the help of a stop to have an unlimited experience.

The Lenovo Plus tab presents a large screen and offers eight speakers with JBL engine.

The 2000 x 1200 resolution makes the icons and texts look more clear, while the 90Hz screen update rate makes the designable general experience without problems. There is also a dedicated reading mode that mitigates the background light and drops color saturation so that it can have a comfortable reading experience.

However, which makes this tablet stand out among the crowd is its sound system with JBL engine. The tablet is loaded with four woofers and four tiles stuffed in the lower half of the rear panel. I must say that adding so many speakers to a tablet is a well done job. Sound quality can actually be ashamed of some affordable Bluetooth speakers.

The tablet also comes with Dolby Atmos and high -resolution audio support, which makes it a package all into one for those looking for a tablet only for entertainment purposes. The sound outlet fills a small room without losing many details. In addition, you can also use the tablet as Bluetooth speaker combining it with any smartphone.

The low -end bass was surprisingly good, while the media and maximums were decent, giving a pleasant experience while watching movies or playing music. However, when the volume rises to the maximum, you will notice some uprising of the ups and downs. But that falls significantly below the volume of 80 percent. I suggest adhere to these levels to make the most of your audio capabilities.

Software Lenovo Tab Plus: Ui Clean

  • Software – Zui 16
  • Version – Android 14
  • Promised updates: two years of Android OS updates and four years of security updates

The Zui in the Lenovo Plus tab offers almost an Android experience with some minor adjustments on the icons and more. Make a blow to the left will take you to an entertainment page instead of Google Discover. The page is a unique destination to obtain recommendations for different OTT applications installed on your tablet, which is good, in my opinion.

The user interface comes with some Bloatware, but it is not overwhelming. The company has added some interesting ways so that the user interface is even softer. To start, YouTube is a PC mode that transforms its user interface of its tablet into a desktop style window, allowing you to match a keyboard and start doing basic tasks.

The Lenovo Plus tab brings divided screen support.

Then, a waiting mode shows slide presentations or the moment in which they load them. The user interface also has a dedicated reading mode that converts the black and white screen for easier night reading sessions. It also has the usual divided screen and floating windows.

The company promised to deliver two years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches in January 2028. That said, the user interface is clean and offers an experience without problems in general.

Lenovo Tab Plus Performance: It is not a power

  • PROCESSOR – MEDATEK HELIO G99 SOC
  • Memory – 8 GB of RAM
  • Storage – 128 GB (expandable up to 1 TB)

This is an area where the Lenovo Plus tab takes a small back seat. MediaTak Helio G99 can be considered an old chipset at this time. To be honest, it is not one of the strong results in the company’s portfolio. This is also reflected in this tablet.

While you can move through the user interface without problems (partially thanks to the 90Hz update rate), you still see some jumps or stuttering here and there. The tablet will work well under normal use, such as playing clues in Apple Music while traveling through Chrome. But the chipset begins to show signs when it comes to a heavy multitasking.

That said, casual games can be made in this case. I tried to play the temple Run 2 and Minion Rush games in this, and ran without delay. However, when it places it in landscape mode, experience is not so good.

On the other hand, while playing heavy games such as Call of Duty Mobile, you can witness some delays and stuttering. The game only provides average graphic quality and a high frame to the maximum. However, the game can only be played with medium configurations.

Lenovo Plus cameras: usable

  • Rear – 8 megapixel primary chamber
  • Front – 8 megapixel selfie unit
  • Features – Document scanner option in the camera user interface

The cameras of the Lenovo Plus tab are usable. The 8 megapixel rear camera offers decent results in diurnal light shots with a natural color reproduction, although the details are not so good. Low light performance is also passable. The front camera also does an average job when clicking on selfies. So, yes, the camera is certainly not one of the device’s strengths.

Lenovo Tab Plus Battery: Mass support

  • Battery capacity: 8,600 mAh battery
  • Cable charge – 45W fast charging support
  • Loader – 45W (charger included)

In the use of real life, the tablet delivered several days of battery with conservative use. We saw a couple of episodes of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba along with some videos on YouTube and obtained almost two days of battery. Under heavy use, which includes playing, using a bluetooth keyboard to write a story, play back music, the tablet lasted comfortably for a day.

The Lenovo Plus tab offers a massive battery of 8,600 mAh

The tablet also went well in our HD battery loop test, which lasts 22 hours and 10 minutes. However, 45W fast charging support is really useful for quickly loading the device. With the loader provided with the box, the tablet managed to load 50 percent in 30 minutes and completed the load in an hour and 15 minutes.

Lenovo tab more verdict

To conclude, the Lenovo Plus tab is a great tablet to consume content at home or march. The design is different from its usual tablets and the built -in kick stop makes it much easier to place it in your bed to see your favorite movie or series without holding it. The screen offers good results, but the audio will surely embarrass any budgetary Bluetooth speaker with its production. That said, the tablet still has some deficiencies and you can blame the former Soc Helio G99 for this. A slightly stronger chipset could have been better, since it would have provided a complete package to users.

That said, the tablet still faces a lot of competition in this price segment. It has OnePlus Pad 2, Xiaomi Pad 6 (review), Realme Pad 2 (review) and more, which offer great performance to this price segment and a more elegant design compared to this tablet. So, if you are someone who loves watching videos on a large screen like a tablet on the fly or while you are at home and want great sounds and ease of use, then you can easily go for it.
