Delhi’s outgoing prime minister, Atishi said today that the loss for the AAM AADMI (AAP) party in the assembly elections was a “setback”, but promised to continue the “war” against the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party, which won a great victory in the national capital after almost three decades.
Speaking to journalists after retaining Kalkaji’s seat, he thanked the people of his constituency for “showing confidence” in her.
“We accept the mandate of the people. I have won but it is not time to celebrate but continue the ‘war’ against the BJP,” he said.

Mrs. Atishi managed to hold on to the seat of South Delhi despite the switches of the main leaders of AAP, including the head of the Arvind Kejriwal party and former Deputy Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia.
The 43 -year -old leader, who won the seat in 2020, defeated the former deputy of BJP, Ramesh Bidhuri and Alka Lamba of Congress.
She became the prime minister after Mr. Kejriwal resigned when she obtained the bond in a corruption case linked to the now scripted liquor policy of Delhi.

The BJP, which has been out of power in the capital since 1998, has been scheduled for an integral victory. Until now, the party has won 17 seats and leads in 30, according to the latest trends available on the website of the Electoral Commission.
The AAP, which was formed in 2012 and overthrew the 15 -year rule of Congress, led by the three -time Main Minister Sheila Dikshit, in 2013, has now been reduced to 11 seats.
The Congress has made a blank space again, completing a Ducks hat-trick since 2015.
