Redmi Pad Pro 5G Review: Tablet Provinous at an affordable price?

0:00

Redmi has taken some steps in the tablet segment by introducing two new tablets: Redmi Pad Se 4G and Redmi Pad Pro 5g. The first is intended for the budget segment and offers some interesting use cases. However, the latter brings a lot of characteristics to the masses.

The Redmi Pad Pro 5G comes with a price of RS 21,999 for the Wi-Fi variant with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage. The 5G variant with an option of 8 GB of RAM + 128 GB has a price of RS 24,999, while the high -end option with 8 GB + 256 GB model has a price of RS 26,999. With this, the last Redmi tablet is looking to obtain full attention in this price segment. However, do you have enough arsenal to become the chosen one? Let’s find out in this review:

Redmi Pad Pro 5G Design: Elegant and thin

  • Dimension – 280.0 x 181.85 x 752 mm
  • Weight – 571g
  • Colors – Blue Blue, Graphite Gray

Redmi is playing aggressively when it comes to the design of the new Redmi Pad Pro 5G. The tablet is loaded with an aluminum unibody, which offers a resistant appearance. The device is thin enough to 7.52 mm and weighs 571 grams, which means that it can easily carry it in its laptop bag without much discomfort.

The elegant design also makes it easier to sustain, despite its enormous exhibition (which we will talk about more later). The rear panel offers a double tone finish. A quarter of the area is plastic to incorporate 5G modem and other connectivity options, while the rest is a metal body. Interestingly, with the Wi-Fi variant, you get a complete metal unibody.

The screen is flat and brings Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, giving some confidence to use it without worrying too much about the screen. The company has also grouped an intelligent Redmi pen and a keyboard with a price of RS 999 and RS 3,999, respectively.

Adding these accessories makes it a complete package for the customer. Talking about the keyboard does not support pogo connectors. It is based on a Bluetooth connection, which means that it must load it through a USB Type-C cable. The same is the case with the intelligent Redmi pen, which only makes it a bit annoying to load it. That said, the battery life of both accessories is good enough to last a long time.

The company offers a personalized Redmi keyboard and intelligent pen as part of the accessories with Redmi Pad Pro 5G.

The keyboard presented with this tablet is good and offers a reasonable travel distance and tactile comments when writing it. Whether you take notes quickly or enjoy writing on this keyboard without many problems. The only inconvenience is the lack of retroiluminated support and trackpad, which could have made it more usable. The match is without problems, and the case safely holds the tablet.

Reaching Redmi feather works very well in different scenarios. Whether writing or drawing, the Redmi Smart Pen offers a good answer, thanks to the 4,096 pressure levels. Interestingly, you can also take notes, even if the screen is off, which is good. On the negative side, the smart pen is not magnetically attached to the tablet, but the company has played it intelligently when giving a hook to hold the pen with the keyboard accessory.

Redmi Pad Pro 5g Audio and Audio: Decent

  • Screen – 12.1 inches LCD screen
  • Update speed: 120Hz screen update speed
  • Other features: 16:10 appearance ratio, 12 -bit screen, 1500: 1 contrast ratio, 600nits HBM, Dolby vision, DC attenuation, Corning Gorilla Glass 3

The Redmi Pad Pro 5G screen meets the standard despite being an LCD panel. Xiaomi is known for its color tuning, which is also reflected in this tablet. The screen is huge (I mean, really huge) compared to its usual tablet, which makes it an ideal option to transmit movies or series. It is also compatible with Widevine L1, which means that it transmits HD content on Netflix, although HDR10 support is missing.

VI ‘Maharaja’ in Netflix and was satisfied with color reproduction, although the screen is a bit reflective, which can be turned off for some. The 120Hz adaptive update rate makes the whole experience a navigation without problems, and will not notice any delay or anything while using the device.

The tablet is also loaded with four speakers and is compatible with Dolby Atmos. The speaker’s output is well balanced with the correct amount of bass and volume, so it is a good device to see any content.

Redmi Pad Pro 5g Software: Experience without problems

  • Software – Xiaomi Hyperos
  • Version – Android 14
  • Promised updates – 2 years of updating of the operating system + 3 years of security updates

This is the first redmi tablet that runs in Hyperos. Although it is not very different from Miui, it offers better low -home optimizations. This results in a faster change between the different tasks and the least latency compared to the Miui skin.

6 Redmi Pad Pro 5g

The Redmi Pad Pro 5G is the first redmi tablet that runs in Hyperos.

The tablet is also loaded with some interesting connectivity characteristics. The characteristics of the smartphone link allow you to transfer data from your Xiaomi device and tablet without problems. One can simply open the smartphone screen right on the tablet and drag and release files without problems.

In addition, the shared clipboard allows you to copy text and images of your smartphone and paste it on your tablet. The network synchronization function is also there, and basically connects to the access point of the phone with a single click. However, these characteristics are currently limited to Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Civi.

Apart from this, you get the usual support of the divided screen and floating windows, facilitating multitasking. The brand has also confirmed that it will provide this tablet for two years of OS Android updates and three years of security updates.

Redmi Pad Pro 5G Performance: Do you do the job

  • Processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2
  • Memory – up to 8GB (LPDDR4X)
  • Storage – 256 GB (UFS 2.2)

The Redmi Pad Pro 5G is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. Chipset processor is a little faster than the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 but not as powerful as the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 or the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

That said, the tablet easily handles most of the tasks you throw. Changing between different applications while playing songs in music and T in the back was soft enough. That said, I noticed minor delays when several applications were opened in the background. Interestingly, you can also add your 5G SIM anywhere.

The tablet also gets sufficiently decent scores at reference points. You can take a look at all the scores in the table below:

Benchmark Redmi Pad Pro 5g
Geekbench 6 Single Core 1034
Geekbench 6 Multi Core 2994
Antutu V10 602,839
PCMark Work 3.0 12,518
3DM SLINGSHOT Extreme OpenGL ** 5177
3DM Slingshot 6690
Wild life of 3dm 2970
3DM Wild Life Unlimited 3072
GFXBENCH T-REX 81
GFXBENCH Manhattan 3.1 30
GFXBENCH Car Chase 15

Upon reaching the games, the tablet drives most games quite well. The Call of Duty mobile was executed without problems with the high quality predetermined configuration of graphics and a very high frame rate. However, with the maximum frame speeds, I noticed some occasional delays. The thermal performance was decent enough, and the tablet did not warm up alarmingly during the game sessions.

Redmi Pad Pro 5g cameras: usable

  • Rear – 8 megapixels with opening f/2.0
  • Front – 8 megapixel sensor with opening f/2.28

The cameras present in the Redmi Pad Pro 5G are usable for video calls, but that’s all. The rear camera takes some decent photos in daylight, but the performance of little light is average. The front camera again does a decent job for video calls and occasionally taking selfies (but we have smartphones for that).

Redmi Pad Pro 5g battery: mass backup

  • Battery capacity – 10,000 mAh
  • Cable load – 33W
  • Loader – 33W (included)

The Redmi Pad Pro 5G provides the a whopping 10,000 mAh to the table in an elegant factor. The tablet lasted 28 hours and 30 minutes in our battery loop test.

4 Redmi Pad Pro 5g

The Redmi Pad Pro 5G is backed by a massive 10,000 mAh battery with fast -charged 33W.

The tablet is loaded with a quick charging support of 33W, which has long been loading the device. In the tests, we discover that the tablet charges 26 percent in 15 minutes, 30 percent in 30 minutes and 59 percent in 60 minutes. The tablet took 2 hours and 10 minutes to load completely. In a real -life scenario, the tablet gives a good battery life. With moderate use, you can easily obtain two or three days of battery.

Redmi Pad Pro 5g verdict

To conclude, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G offers an excellent value proposition for money. The elegant design makes it comfortable enough to travel on the march. The screen looks good for this price segment, and performance is decent, if not excellent. The battery life is impressive, although the fast charging support could have been better.

5 Redmi Pad Pro 5g

The Redmi Pad Pro 5G is available at an initial price of RS 24,999.

With regard to the competition, with the Redmi Pad Pro 5G, it has the Lenovo P12 and Xiaomi Pad 6 (review) tab, which provides hard competition to the tablet. That said, if you are looking for an entertainment power that can also work well in other aspects, then you can consider this tablet.
