Redmi recently introduced its new TWS centered on the market budget with Redmi Buds 5C. The last headphones come with a price of RS 1.999 and offer some interesting characteristics and specifications. The new headphones offer a hybrid ANC of up to 40DB, dynamic titanium controllers of 12.4 mm, five different sound profiles, an IP54 and more rating. The headphones will go against tastes, noise and more that have already been established in this price segment. However, is it enough to make your presence feel in the affordable TWS segment? Let’s find out in this in -depth review.
Redmi Buds 5c Design and Characteristics: Compact and comfortable
- Size: 31 x 21.4 x 23.45 mm (sprouts); 57 x 55.95 x 26.85 mm (case)
- Weight – 4.2g (each outbreak); 38.5 g (total case)
- Water and dust resistance: IP54 (only shoots)
- Colors – Symphonic Blue, Black and Black Acoustic
The Redmi Buds 5C comes with a compact design and a comfortable design in the ear. The case comes with a square design with rounded edges, which makes it easier to fit in Las Palmas. The lid also feels resistant and you get a good click sound when you close it. The device is available in different color options, but Blue Symphony, in my opinion, offers a rather premium appearance. There is a small LED light on the base to indicate the connection. At the base, find a USB type C port and a torque button.
Redmi Buds 5C is available in acoustic black, low white and symphonic blue.
The design of the headphones rod is inspired by the Airpods Pro (2nd gen). The headphones are light, they adjust comfortably in the ear and come with two additional pairs, one small and one large. The medium headphones remain in place during the walks, but they feel a bit lazy during the exercise.
Although there is no IP rating in the case, the headphones come with an IP54 rating, which means they can withstand light splashes. You also obtain tactile controls in each headset to play, pause, adjust the volume and more with the functions of Tap.
REDMI BUDS 5C application and specifications: Easy to use interface
- Driver – 12.4 mm
- Complementary application – Xiaomi headphones
- Gesture controls – Yes (Tap)
The Redmi Buds 5C comes with a complementary application through which it can control multiple functions. The Xiaomi Earbuds application is available on Android and iOS platforms, which is a good thing. The application interface is quite easy to use and obtains important information on the home screen, such as battery percentage and noise cancellation options.
Headphones also support a complementary application known as Xiaomi headphones.
The application also allows you to customize gestures in the outbreaks. One can customize a single touch, double touch and triple touch in each headset separately. The company gives you the option to select different actions for different taps, such as up and down volume, pause and game, and more. While the presentation and maintenance function turns on/off the noise cancellation mode.
The application also allows you to select the equalizer according to your preferences, verify the firmware update or find your headphones. However, for these characteristics, you must log in with your Xiaomi account or create one.
The Redmi Buds 5C offers an IP54 rating, which makes it span and dust resistant.
Upon reaching the specifications, the Redmi Buds 5C offers some interesting characteristics. The headphones come with a 12.4 mm controller along with the hybrid cancellation of active noise of up to 40 dB. The headphones admit Codecs SBC and AAC along with Google Fast Par and Dual Device Smart Connection. It also presents Bluetooth 5.3, personalized EQ modes and dual microphones with AI noise reduction.
Redmi Buds 5C Battery performance and duration: high in the bass, reliable battery
- ANC – 40DB
- Battery – 45Mah (Bud), 480mah (case)
- LOAD – WIRED (USB TYPE -C)
- Bluetooth – 5.3
Redmi Buds 5C offers decent performance at this price. The cancellation of active noise (ANC) is quite effective, and you get three different ways: noise cancellation, transparency and off. The noise cancellation works well in the inner environment. Once the ambient noise is decently reduced, if not completely. Also in outdoor conditions, the performance was decent, and was able to suppress traffic sounds or other environmental disturbances.
The Redmi Buds 5C admits the Hybrid ANC feature, which works effectively.
The headphones also come with different modes of equalization, which can control through the application of Xiaomi headphones. It obtains standard, improves the acute, improves the bass, improves the voice and custom modes to choose from. However, the lowest low is the best way to go, since it provides the best sound outlet. You can also customize frequencies according to your taste with the personalized mode.
Upon reaching the performance, the Redmi Buds 5C brings a balanced approach with emphasis on the bass. This means that you will get a low sound while you play songs like ‘Big Dawg’ by Hanumankind. However, I noticed that the bass was dominating the media and maximums. Then, in a song like I’m yours by Jason Mraz, the bass suppresses the instruments and voices. In addition, at high volumes, I noticed some distortion and separation of unequal sound, which was a bit disappointing.
The last headphones come with an enclosed function for AI for noise reduction during calls.
The headphones also come with decent battery duration. The company states that it can obtain up to 36 hours of support with the case and up to 7 hours of support in each headset. During the trial period, I discovered that the headphones delivered about 4 hours of support with the Anc activated. With ANC off, you can approach 6 hours of support from each outbreak.
With the load case, I obtained about 30 hours of reproduction time, which is impressive given its price. The loading time of the headphones is also fast, and within 50 minutes after the load from the case, it obtains a complete battery. However, the load of the case was a bit slow, and was completely charged in more than two hours.
The headphones offer up to 36 hours of reproduction time with the load case.
The call quality is also good. The headphones offer dual microphones with ENC based on AI that provide good isolation of ambient noise, but not by the bustling road. The headphones offer good clarity at both ends, which is good.
Redmi Buds 5c verdict
To conclude, the Redmi Buds 5C brings a good package in the affordable TWS segment. At the price of RS 1,799, the shoots offer an effective ANC along with a decent sound quality and an impressive battery life. The segment also comes with some good competitors. It has Brower Buds Venus (review), Honor Choice Aures X5 (review) and more that offer a good performance under the RS 2,000 pricing segment. That said, if you are one of those who like low heavy sound and do not want to invest a lot in headphones, then you can consider Redmi 5C Buds.
