The orders issued by the Railway Board recently declared that the other part of the Waltair Division that includes sections between Kottavalasa-Bachelu/ Kirandul stations, Kuneru-Thervali Junction, Singapore Road-Koraput Junction and Paralakhemundi-Gunpur of about 680 km will become In a new division based in Rayagada under East Coat Railway (Ecor).
It means that the South Central Railway (SCR) will remain alone with divisions of Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded; Scor will have Visakhapatnam divisions (Waltair Truncada), Vijayawada, Guntur and Guntakal and Ecor will have Khurda Road, Sambalpur and Rayagada (new division).
The exact territorial jurisdictions must be decided after the preparation of revised DPR that will take into account the above changes. The following jurisdictional changes between SCR and proposed scor have also been made:
The Raichur to Wadi section of 108 km will be transferred from the Scor Guntakal Division proposed to the SCR SECUNDEABAD Division to prevent Wadi from becoming an exchange point between the railroads: SCR, Scor and Central Railway. This is to guarantee a movement without problems of coal rakes through the Division of Secunderabad for two main thermal energy plants in Yadlapur and Yermaras in the Raichur-Wadi section.
The Vishnupuram to Pagadipili and Vishnupuram to the Janpahad sections of 142 km will be transferred from the scor guntur division proposed to the SECUNDERABAD DIVISION DE SCR to guarantee a free movement of coal from the Singeníi area to Vishnupuram, to serve the new plant of Thermal energy in Yadri.
The Kondapalli section to Motumari of 46 km will be transferred from the SECRUDEABAD Division of SCR to the Vijayawada Division of the proposed SCOR to avoid having the N. Tata Ray and Rayanapad Energy Workshop in the limit of the zonal exchange. The scor has been ordered to send a detailed project report and suggested a change of sections in the maps to the Rail Board urgently.
