A 15 -year -old class 9 was arrested for sending electronic bomb threat emails to four schools in Noida, police said Thursday (February 6, 2025)
He was later presented to the Juvenile Court, an officer said.
According to the police, the student said he sent the emails because he did not want to attend school. He used a virtual private network (VPN) to hide its IP location and address so that emails could not be traced, said an officer.
“A police team, a Fire Brigade team and a pump squad were transferred to schools after the school administration discovered emails. The facilities were evacuated first, and then they were registered thoroughly, but nothing suspicious was found, ”said Noida Police Commissioner (DCP) Ram Badan Singh.
A FIR was registered on behalf of a school under sections 212, 351 (4), 352 of the BNS and 67 d of the Law of IT, said an officer. The surveillance team and the cyber team were found after the research that a class 9 student was behind sending the false email to schools, he added.
