The Coordinator of the Rights Recovery Committee of the ADMK workers and former principal minister O. Pannerestelvam on Thursday (February 6, 2025) called the constitution of a panel of three members by the government of Tamil Nadu to study three pension plans as an “act of deceiving” government “of government” employees.
Referring to the formation of the panel to study the old Pension Plan (PAHO), the Tax Pension Plan (CPS) and the Unified Pension Plan (UPS) and make recommendations to the Government, Mr. Pannereselvam, in a statement, he said That if the idea was to frame a pension plan after taking into account the government’s finances, then the operations would not be restored. “This [the panel] It is unnecessary. It has been the demand for government personnel to return to the old pension plan. This was what the DMK had promised in the [2021 Assembly] Electoral Manifesto “.
As it was not necessary for the panel to extend the coverage of the OPS to those who joined the service after 2003 in the lines of what was being implemented for employees prior to 2003, the state government should dissolve the committee immediately, the Mr. Pannerestelvam added.
