Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood on Monday urged his country’s media to stop disrespecting players after he was asked if he would resign as group leader on his own or if the PCB would have to remove him. Shan lost his cool in the post-match conference following his team’s heavy 120-run loss against the West Indies on the third day of the second Test. The Pakistan captain ignored the question and asked for the next question, to which the same journalist intervened and first asked for an answer to his question.
“You have your opinion and I respect it, but there is a lot of disrespect in your question,” Masood said.
“You can’t disrespect the players, me and the others. We all play for Pakistan and get results, but no one will tolerate that disrespect. You have to understand that. You want to belittle someone, but we are all Pakistan players.” . “he added.
Masood said the PCB is the decision maker and the players have always accepted whatever decision the Board has taken.
“You have to understand and appreciate that we are trying to do something different and you have to study it. Anyone can Google something, but we are trying to do something and we have won three of the last four tests at home.”
“Your question was too disrespectful. No one here will tolerate this.”

Shan admitted that Pakistan’s failure to quickly dismiss the West Indies on the first day after having them 38 for 7 and 8 for 64 was a big disappointment and the batting was also of poor quality.
“We have been facing this problem of not being able to get out the lower order quickly for some time now and we have to find a way to solve it because in Tests you have to take advantage of the opportunities that come your way as a team.”
