Jessie Sushil Modi, wife of the late BJP Sushil Kumar Modi, on Monday (January 27, 2025) expressed her gratitude to President Druguadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi because her husband received the Bhushan Padma posthumously.

Sushil Modi died on May 13, 2024 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Aiims), New Delhi. He was 72 years old.
A product of the JP movement led by Freedom fighter and socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan, Modi was a high leader of Bihar’s policy for a long time.
He became the main vice minister for the first time in 2005 when Prime Minister Nithis Kumar had taken power in the state of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Modi is also remembered for his long period as Bihar Minister of Finance and had won the “Bhamashah” of Fhriquet of Mr. Kumar, a reference to the legendary general of the medieval warrior, King Maharana Pratap Singh.
