After a long time, OnePlus decided to relive its smart watches line in 2024 with the launch of its new Watch 2. The device came with many first. The most important thing about these was its unique double motor architecture (two processors matched with two operating systems) driven by their search to provide a better battery life in a device for the use of an operating system. Despite being the first “smart watch” of the brand, it turned out to be a very reliable health and fitness tracking, especially given its attractive price label. It turns out that this is only the beginning for OnePlus, since it has already begun to expand its alignment of watches with a new affordable offer called OnePlus Watch 2R.
Surely everyone was excited when a clock appeared with a new OnePlus design on several certification and leak websites. The one that appeared on the Chinese certification website also packed LTE connectivity. Then, it seemed that OnePlus had prepared a new smart watch, which also had cellular connectivity, which made it a complete offer.
The OnePlus Watch 2R sure looks like a Premium smart watch despite changing aluminum
It turns out that this was the model made only for the Chinese market, since OnePlus announced today that it would be a similar one -looking oneplus of global aspects for global markets (including India). The OnePlus Watch 2R comes with a price of RS 17,999 and will be available for purchase from July 20.
It seems identical to the OnePlus Watch 2 (ESIM) launched in China, but OnePlus’s tone for this global variant of The Watch 2 (ESIM) is very different for the global market. The Chinese brand will not offer LTE or cellular connectivity with this clock, but it markets it as an affordable offer for the Watch 2 more premium one that is currently available at RS 24,999 in India. And so, now we have a oneplus watch 2 more affordable in India with the adjusted ‘r’ nickname, which aligns with the series of ‘R’ smartphones of the brand that offers high performance at an affordable price.
The return case and the Watch 2R OnePlus sensors remain the same as in clock 2
The OnePlus Watch 2R has the same hardware as Watch 2, which makes it a bargain agreement, given its affordable price. However, the main difference is its new design. While I prefer the most traditional Watch 2R design on the modern Watch 2 design, OnePlus has reduced costs when going with an aluminum box instead of a stronger stainless steel in the latter.
The Watch 2R OnePlus has an aluminum box with a natural brushing metal finish. It has more flat and more pronounced sides versus the most beveled appearance of the clock 2. Since it is made of aluminum, it is also lighter at 59 grams (with the belt) versus the clock 2, which weighs 80 grams. This was instantly noticed the second that I took from the box, given its large cash size of 46 mm, which remains the same as clock 2.
The two buttons design has changed compared to the design of the Watch 2 button
As with the new case design, the straps have also changed. There is a delicate diamond -shaped pattern, which gives it a premium appearance.
Inside, hardware is still identical. OnePlus even confirmed that the sensors used for heart rate and spo2 monitor Motor, which continues to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 and BT2700 processor to boost Wearos 4 and rtos software experiences.

Then, apart from the switch to an aluminum box, it has not changed much more, since even the 1.43 -inch rounded amoled panel remains the same as in clock 2. However, it has a bevel painted with inscriptions. The 5AATM + IP68 rating of The Watch 2 for dust resistance and water (except MIL-STD-810H certification) also reaches the 2R clock.
Technically, it is easy to conclude that the OnePlus Watch 2 is an alternative of solid and affordable wearos, but we will have to put it through our regular tests to find out if it is as capable as Watch 2 (as OnePlus states that it is). And if so, it will be a smart watch with OS very accessible. Be attentive to our full review, which will come out soon.
