Washington, United States:

Billionaire Elon Musk said he was not interested in buying Tiktok, the popular application of short videos that the United States has been trying to ban national security concerns with his byteding Chinese owner. Musk’s comments, made at the end of January, were launched on Saturday by The Welt Group, a part of the German media company Axel Springer Se, which organized a summit, where the chief of Tesla joined the conference for video.

“I have not made an offer for Tiktok,” Musk said a week after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, said he was open to Musk bought the application of Bytedonce if he wanted to do it.

“I have no plan for what I would do if I had Tiktok,” Musk said, adding that he does not use the short video application personally and was not familiar with the application format.

“I am not biting to acquire Tiktok, I do not see companies in general, it is quite rare,” Musk said, adding that his acquisition of one billion dollars from the Twitter social networks, now called X, was unusual.

“Usually, I build companies from scratch,” Musk said.

The Republican president signed an executive order that sought to delay the application of a prohibition of the popular application of short videos that was scheduled to be closed on January 19.

Bytedance received the January deadline to sell American assets of Tiktok or face a prohibition from the United States, following the concerns of legislators that the application raises national security risks because China could force the company to share the data of Its US users. Tiktok has denied that he has or would ever share the data of US users.

Apple and Google have not restored Tiktok to their application stores since an American law entered into force. Tiktok said Friday that Android was allowing us to download and connect to the application through packages kits on their website, in an effort to avoid restrictions on the country’s popular platform.

Trump has said he was in conversations with several people for the purchase of Tiktok and that he would probably have a decision about the future of the application this month. It has around 170 million US users.

This week, the president signed an executive order to create a fund of sovereign wealth within the year, saying he could buy Tiktok.

Bytedance has previously denied any plan to sell Tiktok.

Trump Saving Tiktok represents a reversal in the position of his first mandate when he tried to prohibit the application about concerns about the concerns that the company was sharing the personal information of the Americans with the Chinese government.

More recently, Trump has said that he has “a warm place in my heart for Tiktok”, accrediting the application for helping him win about young voters in the presidential elections of 2024.

Bytedance and Tiktok did not immediately respond to a request for comments outside regular business hours.
