In the midst of the ongoing negotiations between India and Indonesia for the sale of Supersonic Missile Systems Brahmos, the Chief of Staff of the Navy of Indonesia, Admiral Muhammad Ali, visited Brahmos Aerospace Private Limited in New Delhi on Monday (27 January 2025) and “exchanged ideas and points of view. on a greater strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the area of defense and strategy ”.
The company said in X that the visiting delegation headed by Admiral Ali interacted with Dr. Jaiteerth R. Joshi, executive director and general director Brahmos, and other senior officials of the joint company. “The delegation was informed about the Supersonic Brahmos system and its formidable capabilities. During their interaction, the two parties exchanged ideas and points of view on how to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the area of defense and strategy. ”
During his visit, Admiral Ali maintained bilateral interactions with the head of the Indian Navy, Dineh K. Tripathi, to deepen maritime cooperation and strengthen ties between the two nearby sea neighbors, said the Navy of India in a release. “The key discussion areas between the two naval leaders included the progress of joint initiatives such as the ‘Samudra Shakti exercise’, the strengthening of operational collaboration and the approach of shared maritime challenges, including piracy and other illegal activities in the sea” .
Mr. Ali also visited several naval establishments, including the Information Fusion Center – Indico Ocean Region (IFC -UOR) and the Establishment of Engineering and Electronic and Arms Systems. It is in an official visit to India as part of the high -level delegation that accompanies the president of Indonesia, Pabowo Subianto, who was the main guest at the Republic Day Parade on Sunday.
The 450 million dollar agreement for Brahmos systems is in advanced stages of negotiations and Indonesia will become the second export market of the missile system after the Philippines, which signed a 375 million dollars agreement in 2022 for three regiments of the anti -mission variant of the missile.
