Like Clockwork, Motorola launched a new G series smartphone last month to assume the premium budget segment. I am talking about the Moto G64 5G, which succeeds the G54 motorcycle last year. The new smartphone is the first in the world to come with the Soc Medatek Dimensity 7025, however, it only offers minor improvements about its predecessor with almost no design change.
After using the phone thoroughly for approximately two weeks, this is what I think of the G64 5G motorcycle. If you are considering it as your next budget telephone, you must definitely read this review.
Moto G64 5G Price in India
I will quickly get the price of the road. The G64 5G motorcycle is currently sold in India in RS. 13,999 for the storage variant of 8 GB + 128 GB and RS. 15,999 for the 12 GB + 256 GB variant. Our review unit offers 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
The G64 5G motorcycle is available in three color options: ICE Lilac, Mint Green and Pearl Blue. I received the Mint Green variant.
The G64 5G motorcycle also comes with a box in the box
Motorola continues to be aware of the environment and sends the G64 motorcycle in a box without plastic. However, the box includes a plastic/silicone box inside. In addition to the case, the box contains the usual paperwork, a SIM ejector tool, a USB Type-A to Type-C cable and a fast-loading adapter of 33W.
Moto G64 5G Review: Design
As I mentioned at the beginning, there are no important changes in the design with the new G64 5G motorcycle compared to the G54 5G motorcycle. The only difference is that there is no black option this year, with Motorola deciding to go in color. The phone has a plastic frame that houses the power and volume buttons on the right edge, the SIM tray to the left and a microphone at the top. The lower frame houses the 3.5 mm headphone port, the USB type C port, a second microphone and a speaker.
The plastic rear panel has a bright finish and creates a pattern when the light hits it. There is a very familiar rectangular chamber module on the back placed in the upper left corner. The module stands out and makes the phone wobble when placed on their back. In the front, the phone now obtains a Glass Glass panel to protect the screen, which still has thick bezels everywhere, particularly at the bottom. There is a cut of blows at the top to house the front camera.
The phone offers dual hybrid speakers with Dolby Atmos support
In general, the G64 5G motorcycle feels similar to last year’s phone. It weighs 192 Gy is 8.9 mm thick, almost exactly the same as the Moto G54. The phone has a classification of IP52 dust and water resistance, but I would not recommend exposing your phone to water or rain.
Moto G64 5G Review: Specifications and Software
The G64 5G motorcycle is equipped with the first mediaTek Dimensity 7025 in the world, which is a small improvement on the model last year. The chipset is combined with the IMG BXM-8-256 GPU, an LPDDR4X RAM up to 12 GB and the storage of 256 GB of UFS 2.2, which can be expanded through a microSD card.
For connectivity, the G64 motorcycle supports 14 5g bands with 3 carriers aggregation, double sim support with a hybrid sim , NFC Suport, a 3.5 mm headphone port, FM radio and a USB type C (USB 2.0).
The G64 5G motorcycle comes with Bloatware, but can uninstall them
The phone presents a digital footprint scanner mounted on the side housed inside the ignition/waking button. It is a capacitive sensor that worked well during the review period. I didn’t face problems with him and discovered that it was fast.
Like Moto G54 5G last year, the new phone has a 6,000 mAh battery and admits a quick 33W charge.
Going to the software, the G64 5G motorcycle comes with My UX aboard MY UX based on Android 14. Although he obtains the last software, Motorola will only offer the Android 15 update on the phone. However, you will get 3 years of security updates. In terms of features, the phone comes with Motorola characteristics such as Family Space 2.0, Moto Secure, a game mode and several motorcycle applications. You also get a lot of bloatware in the form of pre -installed applications, a GameShub, entertainment and purchasing applications. Fortunately, you can uninstall most of the Bloatware on the phone.
Moto G64 5G Review: Performance
The G64 5G motorcycle comes with a media mediachek 7025 dimensity slightly better compared to the 7020 dimension in the previous model. Motorola states that the phone received a 500k+ score in Antutu, and in my tests, it handled a score of 4,94,364 points. In Geekbench, the phone obtained 1012 points in the CPU test of a single nucleus and 2403 points in the multiple core test. In general, the phone worked decently well in daily use and barely faced delay or stuttering by opening applications, system animations, etc. This is also thanks to the screen.
The phone offers Widevine L1 support
Motorola has included an LCD 6.5 -inch IPS screen in the G64. The panel offers an update speed up to 120 Hz, Full-HD+resolution, 240Hz sampling speed and HDR10 support. As for brightness, the screen is classified for the maximum brightness of 560 nits, which is not much. Inside, the screen becomes bright enough not to use the complete brightness, but it is not easy to read outdoors. The screen offers natural and saturated modes, and the visualization angles are fine, with colors that are washed at certain angles.
The G64 5 G motorcycle has a double template hybrid configuration, with the headset acting as the second speaker. Audio quality is good enough, but it lacks low and is not very noisy. The quality of the call, on the other hand, is excellent. The phone offers two microphones.
You can play most games, and the phone does not heat up much
Can you play intensive games in the G64 5G motorcycle? You can definitely, but not in complete settings. I was able to play Asphalt 9 with very high graphics, but the game warned me that the phone really is not compatible with this mode. However, casual games will not be a problem. You can also play BGMI and Call of Duty in medium configurations.
In terms of heat management, Motorola has done a good job. The phone did not heat while playing, use applications such as camera or even loading.
The phone includes a large 6,000 mAh battery that can easily last two days with normal use. In our HD video loop, the phone achieved approximately 16 hours of screen time. Even with heavy use, you can expect the G64 5G motorcycle to last approximately one day and a half. The load is slow despite the fast charge support of 33W. It took me about 1 hour and 50 minutes to completely load the 0 percent battery.
Moto G64 5G Revision: cameras
Now, let’s talk about the cameras. The G64 5G motorcycle has a dual rear camera configuration with a primary 50 megapixel sensor with F/1.8 opening, quadruple pixels and stabilization of optical images. It also obtains an 8 megapixel ultra camera with self -effect, macro mode and a field of vision of 118 degrees. For selfies, there is a 16 megapixel sensor with opening f/2.4. The phone offers an easy -to -use camera application with several ways, including a professional and night mode.
The 50 megapixel primary chamber can take good photos in daylight conditions
The image quality of the main rear camera is good in the conditions of daylight. The colors are a bit supersaturated and there is a loss in detail when it approaches. The ultra wide camera also takes good photos in adequate lighting, but the colors are inconsistent between the main and ultra -ultra cameras. You will also notice less details with the shots. The phone offers a 2x digital zoom, which is essentially a harvest of the main sensor, and produces good images when the sun is out. The Selfie camera can also take good images in daylight conditions, but it is not the most acute and can sometimes be blurred.
In low light conditions, the main camera can take decent photos with the enabled night mode. Without the mode, the photos are washed with a lot of noise and artifacts. It is the same story with the ultra wide camera, but even the photos taken with the night mode are not so great. Check out some samples below.
Photos of daylight of the main rear camera [Tap to expand]
Main rear camera: Low light photos. TOP WITHOUT NIGHT MODE, BELOW WITH NIGHT MODE [Tap to expand]
Ultra Shots: upper light; Lower-Low [Tap to expand]
Video performance in daylight is not bad, but it is not great either. The colors seem supersaturated and the panorama is not soft. Stabilization is also decent. The phone can only shoot at a 1080p resolution at a maximum table of 60 fps. Low light videos lack details and have a lot of noise.
Moto G64 5G Review: Vriedid
The G64 5G motorcycle has a lot of competition in its segment. There is the Realme P1 recently released (review), which has a more powerful processor, but only offers 8 GB of RAM, without an ultra -wide camera and a smaller 5,000 mAh battery. Then also has the Redmi Note 13, the living T3X and the Samsung Galaxy A15, which cost almost the same but lack in most areas compared to the G64 5G motorcycle. The vivo T3X offers a better processor and a battery of similar size, but once again it lacks other important areas, such as cameras and RAM.
If you are looking for a good budget phone with a large battery battery, a good screen and a pair of decent cameras, then the G64 5G motorcycle is an excellent option. Although you may not get the best game performance on this phone, you will still play all your favorite games provided you increase the graphics. Although Motorola has only given the G64 5G motorcycle a small increase in specifications, it is still an easy to recommend phone.
