As part of the Vijnana Keralam campaign, a mega job exhibition will be held on February 15 at various places in Alappuzha.
The job fair, jointly organized by Alappuzha District Panchayat and other local bodies of the district, will be held at SD College, SDV College, University Information Center and Government Higher Primary School, Kalarcode.
For candidates who cannot reach Alappuzha on February 15, online interviews will be conducted on February 14. Candidates can attend the interviews online from their respective district centres.
Speaking to the media in Alappuzha on Monday, former Finance Minister TM Thomas Isaac said around 100 employers would directly interview candidates on February 15 to fill vacant positions in their respective companies.
Dr Isaac said that 4,37,522 job opportunities are available in the job exhibition. Among them, 1.25 lakh jobs are part of the Union government’s apprenticeship and internship programmes. As many as 2,80,463 jobs are in companies like LinkedIn, Foundit and Hamara with an annual income of ₹ 5 lakh. Those applying for jobs at these companies must have between 2 and 5 years of work experience.
Companies like L&T GeoStructure, Quess Corp, SFO Technologies, Bridge, Taj Hotels, Muthoot Microfinance, LIC, IHNA and others also offer various job opportunities in the IT sector and other sectors. Nursing graduates have 2,000 opportunities in countries such as Germany and Australia.
Those who wish to apply for jobs must first register on the Digital Workforce Management System (DWMS) portal, using the link Knowledgemission.kerala.gov.in. The Vijnana Keralam Alappuzha Project Management Unit will notify the location and time of the interview through WhatsApp and email.
Dr Isaac said workstations had been set up in all blocks and townships to help register with DWMS or find and apply for suitable jobs. Additionally, facilitation centers have been created in all local self-government institutions, with community ambassadors acting as conveners.
He said that apart from organizing job fairs, Vijnana Keralam was planning to organize Vijnana Keralam skill development drive for final year students in educational institutions. “The objective is to ensure employment for students when they complete their exams. Around five lakh students are expected to take part in the skill training, which will begin in August this year. As a precursor, a pilot project involving 25,000 students will be launched in the third week of February,” Dr Isaac said.
