Man held on charge of cheating by making marriage proposals

A man who allegedly ran a ‘marriage scam’ by making wedding proposals posing as an IPS officer was arrested by the Kalamassery police.

The arrested is Karthik Venugopal aka Vipin Karthik, 31, of Malappuram. He was nabbed in a case registered by the Kadugodi police in Bengaluru. The Kalamassery police handed him over to the Bengaluru police.

He has around 13 cases against his name in Kerala and Bengaluru.
