The Selvapuram Police in Coimbatore on Wednesday (February 12, 2025) arrested a 34 -year -old man for carrying two Molotov cocktails (incendiary bombs), which allegedly planned to throw to the office of a local official of BJP in the BJP in the City about a personal dispute.
M. Nasar, 34, a resident of Sndarapuram in the city, was arrested during a vehicle checking on Wednesday morning. According to the Police, Nasar quickly moved away in his two -wheeled vehicle when police officers, Sanjay Gandhi and Prasanth, were checking vehicles in Telungpalayam’s junction at 12.30 in the morning. The police, after a persecution, managed to intercept it, and discovered that the suspect was transporting two Molotov cocktails.
During the interrogation, Nasar told the Police that he knew Manppean of Telungpalayam, the president of the spiritual wing of BJP in Coimbatore (south), for almost two years, and that he had recently demanded that Mr. Mankandan give him ₹ 5,000, that the latter had rejected.
Police said Nasar confessed that he consumed liquor with three others in Karumbukadai on Tuesday night and then bought a liter of gasoline from a fuel station to make two Molotov cocktails. Nasar was arrested by the police when he headed to Mr. Manuandan’s office in Talentualayam Junction, and allegedly planned to launch the raw explosives in the building, police said.
According to the police, Nasar faced cases against him for using the Molotov cocktail in the city in the past.
