MLA Sunny Joseph Congress (Archive)
Sunny Joseph, a MLA of the Senior Congress in Kerala, has requested a law to “cook wild boars with coconut oil” instead of burying them with kerosene.
Speaking at a meeting in Kottiyoor in Kannur, Kerala, recently as part of the March ‘Malayora Jatha’ protest of the UDF opposition, Mr. Joseph criticized the current rule, which, according to him, requires that the wild boars shoot with License weapons then burn cheeseno on them.
“A licensed firearm is needed to shoot a wild boar, but throughout the Kottiyoor Panchayat, only one person has a licensed weapon. So how can farmers protect their crops? At this time, if a wild boar is triggered , must be buried with kerosene.
Mr. Joseph, the MLA for Peravoor, added that if the UDF led by Congress comes to power, it should introduce a law to allow wild boar meat to be cooked.
His comments were made in the presence of high -level leaders, including the opposition leader VD Satheesan and the president of KPCC, K. Sudhakaran.
UDF’s protest march was organized to highlight the growing concerns about wildlife attacks and farmers’ financial struggles in the mountainous regions of Kerala.
