A man from Georgia received a sentence of almost 500 years in prison for two years since his arrest for charges of collecting and training more than 100 Pit Bulls for an illegal fighting fight, according to USA today.
Vincent Lemark Burrell, 57, was sentenced on Thursday to 475 years in prison after being convicted of 93 serious crimes of fighting dogs and 10 minor crimes of animal cruelty in Paulding County, Georgia, a suburb of about 35 Miles northwest of Atlanta. The details of the case came to light in the judicial documents obtained by USA today.
Each position for the fight against dogs added to his sentence five years, and each position of animal cruelty added a year, which led to this extraordinary prayer.
It is said that this is the longest mandate of the prison that has been granted to a person due to the dog fight. If Burrell was only convicted of the fight against dogs, the total would be 465 years.
Jessica K Rock is the State Animal Crime Resources Prosecutor.
“Let this be a clear message that Paulding Count release. “It is time for society that we advance and stop the abuse and abuse of innocent animals.”
David Heath, Burrell’s lawyer, presented a motion for a new trial because the verdict “is contrary to evidence and without evidence that supports him” and “decisively and strongly against the weight of evidence.”
