In an exclusive interview with NDTV Sunday, the Minister of Finance, Nirmala Sitharaman, rejected the criticism of the opposition that the Center led by BJP was only trying to attract voters in Bihar and Delhi through the ads in the ads in the Union budget.
Here are the main quotes of Nirmala Sitharaman:
- This is the budget of people. This is “for people, for people, for people’s budget.”
- Modi’s government has always recognized honest taxpayers. The objective is to provide support to the middle class.
- The Government has created a balance between the strengthening of the base of a ‘Vksit Bharat’ and equally focused on key sectors such as health, nutrition and education through well -being schemes.
- Attention has focused on capital spending (CAPEX) in the last years of the Modi government, and now the government has also given great boost to increased consumption.
- From the Covid-19 Pandemia, the Government has increased CAPEX by 10-15 percent to such an extent that the Government announced a Capex of RS 11.11 Lakh Crore last year.
- In addition to that, an increase in Capex by 10.23 percent compared to Re (income spending) takes it to more than RS 11.21 Lakh Crore. That is not an ordinary thing.
- Repeatedly, public spending on asset construction has reached such a level that the growth of 10.23 percent also seems ordinary.
- The center has introduced the rationalization of custom taxes to ensure that the Indian economy becomes ‘Aatmanirbhar’ (self -sufficient).
- We are looking at our own economy. We are looking to strengthen the basis of the Indian economy, to turn it into a manufacturing center.
- No one can say not to the technology processes promoted by AI … we are developing centers to train people for AI.
