IPL 2025: There is abuzz among cricket fans after Champions Trophy on how cricketers will perform in Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) in their respective teams. The auction, held months ago, where players were acquired by franchises, made it more interesting to witness this season, which begins from March 22. Here’s a look at the key players to keep an eye on ahead of this season, based on their staggering signing amounts.

Top Five Players

1. Rishabh Pant

Signed by Lucknow Super Giants for a record 27 crore, became the most expensive player in the IPL history. Pant made 128 off 63 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018. Interestingly, at the age 23, he became the youngest player to head the team as captain for Delhi Capitals in 2021. His aggressive batting and strong IPL performance is a must to check this time.

2. Shreyas Iyer

The right-handed batter, who earlier captained for Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, is set to lead Punjab Kings this IPL season. Shreyas Iyer was sold for a whopping 26.75 crore. He has played 115 matches, made 3,127 runs, with an average of 32.24, including 21 half-centuries. His contribution has been significant in making Kolkata Knight Riders

3. Venkatesh Iyer

As an all-rounder, Venkatesh Iyer scored 1326 runs in 50 IPL matches, with 11 fifties, a century, strike rate of 137.12 and an average of 31.57. He was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders in 23.75 crore. His 2024 record comprises of 370-runs at an average of 46.25 and a strike rate of more than 158. He played phenomenal in domestic tournaments like Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy during his breakout season in 2021-22.

4. Arshdeep Singh

In a total of 65 IPL matches, he took 76 wickets since his debut in 2019. Punjab Kings retained him for 18 crore, while exercising the Right-To-Match (RTM) and matched Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bid. He missed the Purple cap by just two wickets in 2024. One can’t wait to witness his yorkers, and bowling during death overs.

5. Yuzvendra Chahal

Chahal has played 160 matches, taking 205 wickets with an average of 22.45. He was sold to Punjab Kings in 18 crore. The leg-break googly bowler made his IPL debut in 2013. Earlier, he proved to be an asset for Rajasthan Royals as took the purple cap with 27 wickets. Earlier, he played for Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore in different period of time.
