Infinix manufactures decent smartphones in the Sub-RS. 10,000 price segments and has also been offering decently good hardware with them. The brand launched the Infinix Smart 7 HD last April and has now renewed the model with its last Infinix Smart 8 HD. The new telephone has some cosmetic changes and has 3 GB of RAM instead of 2 GB on the smart 7 HD last year. We tested the device widely, and in this article, we will tell you if this entry level smartphone is worth your money.
Infinix Smart 8 HD Price in India
The Infinix Smart 8 HD has a price of RS. 7,990 and comes with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. It has four color options: green glass, wooden black, bright gold and white galaxy. We obtained the Crystal Green color option for review. The box includes the smartphone, a transparent case, a cargo brick, a USB type A to the USB type C, a user manual and the Sim Exchange tool.
Infinix Smart 8 HD Review: Design
The smartphone does not look very different from its predecessor. It has a rear panel with matte finish with barely visible infinix brand and a camera module that excels a lot with lateral matte finish polycarbonate rails. The main difference between the Smart 8 HD and 7 HD is the texture in its rear panel, which now has this unique shiny design instead of a posterior textured polycarbonate panel. The smartphone uses a digital footprint reader mounted on the side instead of the digital footprint reader mounted on the rear used in the 7 HD. Despite the extensive use of polycarbonate, the Infinix Smart 8 HD offers a good feeling in the hand with its flattened sides and 8.5 mm thick.

Its weight distribution is decent; At 184 grams, you don’t feel cumbersome either. I used the smartphone as a secondary smartphone for a short period, and carry it along with my daily driver in the same pocket was not a problem for me. Smart 8 hd bezels are quite thick, but this is well taking into account their price. The front camera uses a drilling cut, which is refreshing to see on a smartphone in entrance level. However, it does not have an official IP rating or splash protection, so carrying it with it to swim is not wise. The inclusion of a dedicated microSD card is suitable for those who need more storage but still need to use two 4G SIM cards.
Infinix Smart 8 HD Review: Specifications and Software
The smartphone is equipped with the T606 Unisoc socio, which is an input level processor that can handle light tasks with ease. One can use this smart phone for daily VoIP calls, verify emails, respond to text messages on WhatsApp and navigate in light websites easily. When I had this device with me, I had my secondary SIM card, and the reception I obtained was decent. Internet speeds are not as large as you in a device enabled for 5G, but taking into account that this is a 4G smartphone, does the job.
For a smartphone in this price segment, it is good to see that the brand moves to a USB type C port instead of the usual micro USB port. There is a digital footprint reader mounted on the side, which is great to have in this price range. Users can also use Face Uplock, but I would not recommend it, since it is not safe. The Infinix Smart 8 HD has a 5,000 mAh battery and can be loaded using the 10W load brick provided. It is executed in the XOS 13 of Infinix, based on Android 13 Go. It uses a dynamic characteristic similar to the island, called the Magic Ring of Infinix, with limited functionality. The brand has not promised anything in terms of future software updates, which can be a bit worrying for those who like to cling to their smartphones for a long time.
Infinix Smart 8 HD Review: Performance
As is an entry level device, my expectations of your performance were not too high. Anyway, I executed all the reference points required on the device, and the scores were good enough for a smartphone in this price range. He scored 2,32,007 in Antutu V10.2.1, and in Geekbench 6, he obtained 379 in the single nucleus and 1,322 in multiple nuclei tests. The Infinix Smart 8 HD has an HD+ LCD of 6.6 inches with an 90Hz update rate, which seems new to this price segment, but Xiaomi Redmi A3 also offers the same. The screen provides good colors when seen from the front, but when you look at it from an angle, the colors begin to fade. Interior, the smartphone is good enough in terms of brightness levels, with a maximum shine of 500 nits claimed. But take it outdoors, and the screen disappoints a lot.

The smaller shooting speakers provides acceptable sound quality, although with severe minimum. Sometimes, at full volume, it can display sharpness, which requires a volume adjustment for greater clarity during reproduction.
Android 13 GO edition is much lighter than the full version, and that has worked quite well in favor of this smartphone. The smartphone did not feel slow or delayed while traveling through its user interface, but it is a bit slow to launch third -party applications. Despite its price, the Infinix Smart HD 8 works quite well. This is not a game device, but it can handle basic casual games well. Subway Surfers works well, without delay and the tactile response rate of this smartphone was also decent.
Taking into account its input level processor, I was surprised that the phone is heated after 15-20 minutes of casual games. The heating problem also persists when using camera applications, but daily tasks such as web navigation and the use of messaging applications such as WhatsApp work without any problem.
The smartphone achieved good 20 hours and 10 minutes in our battery loop test. After a full day to use it for calls, video transmission and even click on some images from the predetermined camera application, I had about 30 percent of the battery at the end of the day, which is decent for a smartphone at this price. In our battery charge test, the smartphone loaded only 4 percent in 30 minutes, 27 percent in an hour, and completed the load in 3 hours. This may seem too slow, but most smartphones at this price offer the same.
Infinix Smart 8 HD Review: cameras
The Infinix Smart 8 HD has a double rear chamber configuration with a 13 megapixel primary camera with an opening F/1.8 and another auxiliary camera of 0.08 megapixels. The smartphone uses an 8 megapixel camera for selfies. The camera user interface is simple and there are no fun elements. It obtains the basic controls for photos and videos that is generally seen on Infinix smartphones.
Infinix Smart 8 HD has a single accessible camera for the user
The 13 megapixel primary chamber captures decent images in daylight. The final image in the gallery takes a second to show, but the result is very different from what you see in the camera’s application viewer when capturing it.

The camera processes a lot in the background, but the results are average. The images have good saturation levels but lack resolved details. I shot several images in daylight, some with mobile and others with stationary themes and the results went well for a smartphone at this price. This camera manages the retroilumination situations in a decent edge portrait and detection mode, which is generally the case with smartphones in this price range.
The smartphone uses the 2x digital zoom that produces softer images with a lot of processing, but you can get usable photos, provided there is a lot of light. As expected, the smartphone fights with shots with little light.

Night mode produces crimeter images with decent colors. A detail that caught my attention was its inability to establish exposure when using the dedicated night mode, which could result in bad shot, which will have to take again. In summary, little light performance is not what one expects from a smartphone at this price and is not exactly reliable.

The Infinix Smart 8 HD Chamber does not work well with little light
The 8 megapixel selfie camera is good enough for the daylight shots. The shots have a good level of detail and are acute enough. The front camera fights quite a lot of light, firing soft images with a lot of noise. The Infinix Smart 8 HD can record videos up to 1080p 30 fps from the primary camera. The results are very good, provided it was parked. Start moving or panoramic, but the video shakes a lot and cannot be used. The performance of the video with little light is not excellent, since the recorded video comes out quite soft and makes a lot of noise. The front camera triggers decently in daylight, both in moving and stationary situations, which is an advantage.
Infinix Smart 8 HD Review: verdict
The Infinix Smart 8 HD is a good device if you need a secondary phone with good battery life, but it has a tight budget. However, it has its deficiencies, such as the load support of 10 W very slow, the bad performance of the camera with little light and a screen that is not legible outdoors and has very limited viewing angles. Therefore, it is more suitable for calls and very basic use of applications, but nothing more. There is no doubt that there are not many options in this price segment, but Xiaomi offers something similar with its RS Redmi A3. 7,299 onwards. It has a better processor, more RAM variants and an 90Hz update speed screen. It can also be considered the Redmi 13C (from RS. 7,699), which has a slightly higher price but offers a better screen and cameras.
