India crushed South Africa for nine WICKETS in a unilateral final to raise its second consecutive title of the U-19 World Cup U-19 on Sunday in Kuala Lumpur. India had raised the inaugural title in 2023 under the leadership of Shafali Verma.
This is also the second time that India became champions of the U19 World Cup against South Africa in Malaysia. In 2008, India had raised the Junior World Cup of one day by beating South Africa in the final, under the Captaincy of now Batting, the unconditional Virat Kohli.
Chasing 83 races for victory, India lost the first G Kamalini game in fifth place before Trisha Gongadi (44 was not) and Sanika Chalke (26 did not) cost 48 undefeated races for the second Wickt to defend her title in 11.2 overs.
In fact, it was Sanika Chalke who hit the winning races. Previously, Trisha Gongadi led the Indian bowling attack with 3/15 to play proteases for 82 in 20 overs. Vaishnavi Sharma (23/23), Aayushi Shukla (2/9) and Parasika sisodia (2/6) also took wickts for India.
