The president of Adani’s group, Gautam Adani, Jeet Adani, married Diva Jaimin Shah, daughter of the diamond merchant Jaimin Shah, in a “small and extremely private function” in Ahmedabad on Friday.
The wedding festivities began at 2 PM and the rituals were held according to the traditional Jain and Gujarati culture in the municipality of Adani Shantigram in Ahmedabad.
Gautam Adani had previously said that Jeet’s wedding will be a “simple and traditional” ceremony, and not a show full of stars. The clarification could rest rumors that they claimed that a large number of global celebrities such as Taylor Swift attended the event.
Jeet and Diva have dedicated their wedding to highlight the causes that care deeply, which makes the occasion a combination of tradition, elegance and social impact, according to sources close to the family.
Fashion designer Manish Malhotra has joined the family of disabled NGOs (FOD) to make custom shares for Jeet and Diva.
Gautam Adani previously shared that the couple had pledged to contribute 10 LAKH of RS each for the wedding of 500 women with disabilities every year. Days before the wedding, Jeet Adani met 21 newly married Divyang (women with disabilities) and their husbands to launch this initiative.
In a publication about X on Friday, Gautam Adani said: “With the blessings of God Almighty, Jeet and Diva tied the sacred knot of marriage today. The wedding took place today in Ahmedabad with traditional rituals and Shubh Mangal Bhaav among loved ones. It was a small and extremely private function, so we could not invite all supporters, even if we wanted, so I sincerely apologize.
