Director General of Police (DGP) Cap. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, who retires from the service when reaching retirement on January 31 (Friday), shared his experiences during his 35 years of service in the police department with the media on Thursday.
“There have been many changes in the department in the last three decades. My advice for young officers is to work hard and do justice to the poor and in need, ”said Mr. Tirumala Rao.
The DGP said that he had done everything possible to reduce the crime rate using the latest technology and strengthen the department, and that it was dividing a position with immense satisfaction.
“I was one of the police officers who interrogated the terrorist Ajmal Kasab, who had been captured alive by police forces during Mumbai’s attack on November 26, 2008,” said Tirumala Rao.
He said that the Greyhounds training institute would appear in the Vizianaram district and the Andhra Pradesh Police Academy, near Agiripalli.
“There are plans to establish police stations of cyber crimes in each district, improve vigil by improving technological infrastructure such as CCTV cameras and drones,” said Mr. Tirumala Rao.
CRIME INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT (CID) General Director of the Ravi Shankar Ayyanar Police, Additional General Director (Law and Order) N. Madhusudhan Reddy, and the Additional General Director (Intelligence) Mahesh Chandra Laddha were among other officers present.
