Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Tuesday that the country is putting all its forces to obtain the rights to host the 2036 Olympic Games, which will take Indian sports to new heights. “We are pressing for the host rights of the 2036 Olympic Games, Indian sports will take new heights,” said Prime Minister while talking at the opening ceremony of the 38 national games here. “Wherever the Olympic Games occur, all sectors win. Create better facilities for athletes,” he added. Modi had expressed the intention of India to organize the 2036 games during the session of the International Olympic Committee in Mumbai in 2023. IOA has presented the official expression of interest to the IOC.
